Here is a little bit of general information for some people who want to read a little bit of general information. Ok?
Longboarding... it's fun. There are certain things that take a while to learn, like making your board slide sideways down a hill while you stand on it, jumping over a rope and then landing on your board on the other side, not falling off your board when you are cruising down a slope at 50mph+, etc.
But- there are always a few things that beginners and even some experts should know, or should be reminded of, in order to help them have more fun on their board...
HOW ABOUT THIS ONE-
BEFORE you set up your trucks and wheels and bushings, make sure you fully understand what you are doing. Look up some resources online to help guide you through these super extremely difficult processes so that when you are attempting to go sideways down a hill standing up on your board at 50mph+, your nuts and bolts don't come out, and your face does not end up on the hard ground.
HOW ABOUT THIS ONE-
DO NOT BE AFRAID to ride something slightly different than what everyone else is riding... let's be clear. There are clearly some board shapes, wheel designs, bushing "hardnesses" that are "better" for certain types of riding. However, this does not mean that you cannot experiment and find the right setup for you, even if it stretches the norm a bit.
These are just some ideas.
